Duck Life 9: The Flock is the 9th and latest installment in the Duck Life series released in May 8th, 2024. A demo of Duck Life 9 was released in February 2024. It was announced on January 20th, 2024 with a teaser trailer. The game is available on PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PS5 and iOS. It is the 1st installment in the Duck Life series to feature 3D graphics, Balancing as a new skill, town building elements, shoes and a new pair of webbed feet for the ducks.[1] Now the ducks cook foods other than Seed. This game takes place after Duck Life 8 and if 'Duck Life 10” would ever exist it would come out after this game.
You are born in the Adventure District (continent), and after winning a race, you get a free all-expenses-paid stay at Featherhaven Island.
Prologue[]
Duck Life 9 takes place on Featherhaven island, a large island filled with challenges and 10 different areas. The Steam description also mentions a mysterious challenger who lives inside a volcano, which turns out to be the Fire Duck from Duck Life 4.
You are presented five eggs. You can choose 1 from 5. There is a very low chance your duck will be a Crystal Duck (read on for more info.).
Then the news broadcasts, saying that Marco stepped out of champion because he said he has some "family issues."
A ticket to Featherhaven Island is hosted with a race of four ducks; your duck and three others. The first duck gets stuck in a powerline and falls down. The second swims under a bridge and falls into a water hole. The third jumps into a bridge and falls down a pothole. Your duck is the last, winning the ticket. Then, as the news gets back on, the news ducks say that your duck won the ticket and is now their "favorite" duck.
Getting To The Island[]
You get to Featherhaven Island and you see a dog eating dog food. He spits out his food and is confused on how you got here so fast. He wasn't expecting you to come to the island until next week. Then he says his name is Doug and he wants to build you a tent. Then he tells you how to build things using the Upgrade Well. Then you repair the Training Centre. Doug gets super happy and wants you to start training. You go inside the building g and you click on Doug. There will be a professional switch which can only unlock when you have learnt all of the skills and upgrade the training station. You can also select ducks you want to train.
In Running Training, you have to go on bridges, avoid swinging poles, and travel on spinning spike rollers. Each 10 levels, the training will upgrade.
The island also changes time of day too. There's Morning,Daytime, Afternoon, and Nighttime. At Nighttime, your ducks will feel sleepy and go inside their tents.
If you go out and have a high enough level of three to climb the Muddy Stairs, you have access to the first area, Spring Meadows. There is a pink duck named Gareth and a green duck named Walter. You have to race them to make them new recruits to join your flock. When a duck is recruited, you will have to go and build a tent for them before recruiting them.
At the far edge of the most east land of the meadows, Mona The Mouse offers you to try a free food. She gives you three Duckroot to have a practice cook. After that,you can use her pot for free,but you can also build a pot in your flock.
But, in order to cross that river, there is Percy the Penguin who is infamous for his joke, "Quack!". You need at least 3 ducks in your flock (you, Walter, and Gareth) to allow swimming. He later appears in your training station side by side with Doug. In Swimming training, you avoid mines, boats, and sculptures. The mines will make you explode. You may touch a boat, however, and not explode. The first upgrade has piranhas. At the beginning of training, he gives you a joke, sometimes being "You know, you look just like my brother..." If you beat your high score, he will swim sideways and say something inspirational.
Once you cross the river, there is a very tiny landmass contained by a peaco*ck. He also requests to be in your flock, but you need to build him a Costume Shop first.You can now add a Costume Shop for this peaco*ck.
Across that tiny river, there is a duck named Erica. Beat her in a race and that's duck #4. Then there's Coco. Beat him in a race and that's duck #5.
You may see the Flying Type from Duck Life 3. His name is revealed to be Brad. You need at least 5 ducks to join your flock (you, Walter, Gareth, Erica, Coco) to convince Brad to join your flock. You then gain the ability to fly across chasms.
In flying training, you are on a platform. It breaks and you are sent flying! Use the up, down, left, and right arrow keys to move your duck inside the cannon. Sometimes, there is a chest which you have to open before flying to the next level. When Percy says "You know, you look just like my brother...", Brad contrasts that with "I could do this in my sleep!". In the first upgrade, you gain the ability to look for cannons high and low.
Behind a tree next to Brad, there is Spike, a duck wearing a pink tutu.When you first talk to the tutu duck,he will give you an apple.NEVER, EVER, tell the duck called Mike behind him where the tutu duck is.
Why not? Because that won’t turn out so well……
These are the ducks you have in total in Spring Meadows:
These ducks are what Brad means by "Your flock is too small, buddy".
If you cross the other Chasm where Brad used to be, you end up with a hill, three coins, and a red duck named Natasha. Natasha then says "I want to go and chill in Quackbeard's Cove, but these vines are blocking the way."
Once you fly over the chasm to a treasure chest, it is too high to reach. Then, there is in indigo duck named Yen. Yen is in love with a gray duck over there named Gerry. If you race her and she loses, then go talk to Gerry. After you talk to Gerry, go back to Yen and then open the treasure chest, containing a Tournament Ticket (Pink). Then, you enter the Tournament.
Spring Meadows Tournament[]
You cannot enter the same duck multiple times now. You have to actually grind in training now for the best 3 ducks in your flock. Most users on YouTube selected their duck for the first race, Walter for the second race, and Erica for the third race.There is a news broadcast right before the tournament begins.Rosebud reports Brad the Bird has been the flying trainer and wishes the duck which takes the training courses from Brad. If you win, don't forget to go back and defeat the Champion. The champion for Spring Meadows is Tenzing The Explorer Duck. After you beat him, he is invited to your flock. If you are playing the Demo, then this is the end of it!
Quackbeard's Cove[]
If you are playing the DEMO, you can see it in the map, but it's not available because you only get part of The Flock and most of Spring Meadows. If you are playing the Full Version, Tenzing will congratulate you of your skills and chop the vines down in your Flock and the gateway to Quackbeard's Cove.
When you enter Quackbeard's Cove, a 'paid actor' of Captain Quackers introduces you to Quackbeard's Cove.
Scruffy is at Quackbeard's Cove too.He says that he eats jelly coins which explains he has a machine to exchange prizes in DLA and DL9 .When it comes to machine,you shoule build a machine in your flock in order to let him join in your flock.
The Mallard Gang is waiting for you there are five members in the gang now.You have to beat to members of them to get a shovel and the first treasure map.
Monty The Monkey is then waiting for you beside two of the Mallard Gang members. In order to learn climbing,you should recruit at least 7 ducks in your flock.You then gain the ability to climb up vines.
On the upper lands,there are some racers,Fred The Frog and Polly The Parrot.You can recruit Polly by building a salon shop and learn how to jump from Fred when your flock has more than 8 ducks.
After learning how to jump,you can jump over the stones and reach the last part of Quackbeard's Cove.There are also some racers as well as some normal ducks.
The north way to Toadstools Towers is blocked by a rock.The only duck can explode it is Igor, The Demolition Duck which should enter the Quackbeard's Cove Tournament and beat him.
Mallard gang buried the tournament ticket as a treasure.The first treasure is on the island far away from the cove.The second treasure is under the palm tree opposite the river.The last treasure is between trees on the left of the enter of the cove.
There is a news broadcast right before the tournament begins. Rosebud calls these "Region Tournaments". Also, Featherhaven Island is right out the window. One of the headlines is that Captain Quackers brand cereal contains chemicals toxic to ducks. The paid actor of Captain Quackers was right about the cereal. Rosebud then reads a conversation with the brand, with it's leader saying an explanation of the cereal's ingredients being cheap, but can be enjoyed properly in moderation and as part of a balanced diet. The Mallard Gang's crashed ship operation has also been discovered in Quackbeard's Cove. Rosebud things hey are looking for the cove's lost treasure. The gang's leader was unable to chat with the reporters. After the cereal and Mallard Gang incident, they are ready to start the tournament. The champion is Igor, The Demolition Duck. He also joins your Flock after the race is completed, if you win, however. He then drills a hole in the cove, leading to Toadstool Towers. He also drills a similar hole in your Flock to lead into the Fishing Beach.
Fishing Beach[]
In the Fishing Beach, you meet Benson The Bear, who gives you a Net and later trades a fish (Runt), for a Fishing Rod. A Fishing Rod can fish on a further distance than the Net. The Net would be used to close beach spots. You can see lava flowing from the last area all the way from the Fishing Beach. The Fishing Beach is used to catch more fish used for food, hunger, and energy resource.
Toadstool Towers[]
In Toadstool Towers, You go to the path where Kat the Cat is. When you talk to her, you want to upgrade your Training Center only to realiase that you need Hardwood trees! Luckily for you, a green duck named Richard has some Hardwood trees and he will give them to you. There is a duck that will not let you in the Crystal Desert unless you beat the Tournament. To get the ticket, you must complete the minigame and then there will be a treasure chest that will have the tournament ticket.
Toadstool Towers Tournament[]
In the Toadstool Towers Tournament, Rosebud broadcasts Kat the Cat's nightmares about Rick Rolling and found the job as a balancing trainer. After the conversation, the tournament begins. After beating the tournament the champion is Jade, The Crystal Duck. After beating her in a race, she will want to join your flock. She also convinces the duck guarding the Crystal Desert to let you in the Crystal Desert and she agrees. You also gain more Crystal Feathers in your Flock while all your ducks sleep. Nothing happens however after she joins your flock. You go to the Crystal Desert and move on.
Crystal Desert[]
After Jade lets you entry into the Crystal Desert, to enter the Tournament Centre, you need three keys. One from the Archery Cave, one from Pimples The Clown's Hot Air Balloon, and the last one from the Third Of The Three. The keys are named Crystal Key A, Crystal Key B, and Crystal Key C. A goes at the top lock, C at the bottom lock, and B in the middle lock. In order to get the Third Of The Three's key, you need to beat the First Of The Three's race, the Second Of The Three's race, and the Third Of The Three's race. IN THAT ORDER. There is also a wooden box which you can stand on in between the Second Of The Three and the Third Of The Three. Neither of the Three join your Flock after beating them. The wooden box cannot allow you to fall down, even on the most perilous edges. Neither below can you climb up the wooden box.
Crystal Desert Tournament[]
News brodcasts that Pimples The Clown has been arrested. However, even after he is 'arrested', you can still spot him. After beating all three races, you meet the champion, Splinter The Carpenter Duck. He is not a Crystal Duck because he does not have a gradient colored body or diamond eyes. If you customize him after he loses and joins your Flock, then you could 'say' he's a Crystal Duck. After beating Splinter, he happily builds a bridge to have entry into the Sunflower Ravine. When you get to the Fishing Beach after that, he builds a dock for you to reach out to even further Fishing Beach waters to fish in. He does nothing for your Flock whatsoever, however.
Sunflower Ravine[]
After Splinter The Carpenter Duck builds a bridge to the Sunflower Ravine, you can enter. Police don't allow you to go any further past the first cliff because the bridge is broken and even though you can fix the bridge (you just say so), the police won't let you because they don't want to cover up the investigation. 'This bridge isn't getting fixed any time soon', as PC Pluck says. You need at least 10 ducks in your flock to unravel the leaf on the beanstalk and get to the other side without using a bridge. The ducks stomp on the giant leaf, causing it to unravel and fall on the ground. With the power of friendship and weight, you make it across with 9 other ducks. In order to get a tournament ticket, you need to pick up a duck's paper cranes on the beach without one falling into the ocean. Once you do, you recieve a tournament ticket and you can go down on the beach sandy area of the ravine. Coins in the ravine are in tough places, like on a cliff, behind trees, and behind hedges in the corn maze. Oh-did I say corn maze? Once you've got the tournament ticket, you can enter the left corn maze. When you push the red lever, you unlock the right part of the maze. Then you can enter the right corn maze. If you find the green lever in the right corn maze, you unlock the gate to the Tournament Centre, which looks like an abandoned building of the house of a farmer. Also in the maze, in order to go on, you have to race ducks. It's their job to race. There are also treasure chests with clothing, jelly coins, and money.
Sunflower Ravine Tournament[]
Rosebud broadcasts that the bridge in Sunflower Ravine is broken with wingprints on the wood boards, but that isn't stopping the tournament from happening. Also, some ducks (your Flock) have been using a huge leaf from a beanstalk or sunflower to cross. Meanwhile, the wingprint mystery is yet to be solved. Anyway, the Sunflower Ravine Tournament will begin! The races go as usual. Once you beat the tournament, the Champion is Dale The Farmer Duck. Dale The Farmer Duck's picture makes him look like he's sleeping. That's cause HE IS! After you beat him in a race, he says that he is making a project on planting the tallest sunflower ever! He then plants a sunflower seed into the ground, waters it, the it grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows and grows. It is a tall sunflower now! You can climb up the stairs (wait-there's STAIRS on the SUNFLOWER? What the ducky?) and the stairs lead to the Cloud Kingdom.
Cloud Kingdom[]
In the Cloud Kingdom, there are four lifts. Three regular, and one for the Tournament. The regular lifts require a red gem, and the tournament requires a golden gem. You can earn one gem by talking to a duck, another by beating the Princess, the third on the thunder cloud, and the fourth from the three supreme racers. The first is a climbing superstar. The second was the same for Swimming, and the third was for flying/gliding, as they call it gliding. There is a glitch that after you place the tournament/gold gem into it's lift, you can still recollect it wherever you got it from and it is stuck in your bag. In order to go on the thunder cloud, you have to recruit Sid The Snake and buy some shoes because you need shoes to protect yourself from the thunder cloud's tough electricity. In order to claim the Tournament Ticket, you will have to fix a duck's plumbing problems with three puzzles. The first puzzle is easy, the second medium, and the third very difficult. There is also a gold deposit resource that you can use to grow and mine gold in your Flock if you find it first!
Cloud Kingdom Tournament[]
News broadcasts that the cloud princess is just an actor and a puppet for the real suspect and criminal, the Moneybags Duck. The races then go on like normal. The cloud kingdom champion is however the moneybags duck, which is revealed to be Cynthia herself. After you race her, she tells you about the supreme speed of the ducks on the volcano. She says they move like lightning. Anyways, she tells you about her private purple duck pilot who can fly you to the Volcano Town anytime you like. That's all for the cloud kingdom!
Volcano Town[]
After the Pilot flies you to the Volcano Town, you enter it and notice a huge lava pool preventing you from entering the other side of the Volcano. To get to the other side of the Volcano, you must put out the lava pool with a bucket of water. Misty however, has a bucket of water that she will only give you if you beat her in a race. After beating her, she will give you the bucket of water and she will want to join your flock! After putting out the lava pool with the bucket of water, you can enter the other side of the Volcano. There is The Tournament there in the center but you can't access it until you get the Tournament Ticket. To get the Tournament Ticket, you must talk to Shivers who dropped the Tournament Ticket in a hole called "the Death Hole". After talking to him, you have to complete a minigame in order to get the Tournament Ticket down the Death Hole. After getting the Tournament Ticket, Shivers says that you were much braver than he was and said that he never jumped down a burning hole ever unlike you.
Volcano Town Tournament[]
News broadcasts that there is a super rare duck racing trading card that features Doris Dewdrop on the card that is being sold for 5 million coins. However, when Rosebud is about to start the Tournament, she sees a disaster in Volcano Town. With Breaking News comming it seems that the Volcano in Volcano Town is reaching dangerous levels. Rosebud then starts thinking that the Volcano is about to erupt and with her theory, she will find out as the Volcano Town Tournament is about to begin. She also tells Fruit Flop to stay safe during the Tournament. After beating the Qualifiers, nothing happens whenever you press the Champion Race unlike the previous tournaments. However, when you exit out the tournament screen, the volcano shakes and before you knew it, the volcano erupts near the tournament! After it erupts, Frank the Fire Duck comes out of the tournament and finds that you are a worthy duck racer and tells you to come to his Castle only to think that he will certainly destroy you in his race. This leads to the Volcano Interior!
Volcano Interior[]
When you enter in the Volcano Interior, you will see Frank the Fire Duck's Castle. However, the drawbridge to the castle is extended high preventing you from reaching the Castle. To lower the drawbridge, you must beat three ducks on the Volcano Interior. The first duck is Snowfeather, the second duck is Flowfeather and the third duck is Flyfeather. You can beat them in any order but they have mastered certain skills. Flyfeather mastered the art of flying and jumping, Flowfeather mastered the art of swimming and Snowfeather mastered the art of running and balancing. After you beat all three of them, the drawbridge lowers and you can now enter the castle. Once when you enter the castle, the champion, Frank the Fire Duck approaches. Just like how Duck Life 4 did, you have to use the arrow keys to move your duck, press the space bar to jump and avoid the obstacles such as fireballs and lava. Not to mention that Frank the Fire Duck hovers in air so he can go through these obstacles without dying! After you beat the Fire Duck, News broadcasts breaking news that Frank the Fire Duck has been dominating races for years with many racers complaining about his controversial ability to float in the air. However, Fruit Flop gets news and sees that Frank the Fire Duck has been defeated by you and he crowns you as the new champion of duck racing with Rosebud also making you the new owner of the champion Crown! After that, there will be ending credits of the people that made Duck Life 9 and after the credits, Frank the Fire Duck says that his absolute floating ability was no match for you and he gives you the Champion Crown! He says that the Crown is a part of your victory and he tells you to remember it. He also says that he wants to join your Flock so that he can learn the skills that you have and decides to leave the Volcano. He also says that he will grant entry to Drake the Dragon's cave as of the 1.1 update of Duck Life 9. That's the end of Duck Life 9: The Flock!!!
Drake The Dragon's Cave[]
Drake and Frank make amends and Frank gives all volcano property back to Drake The Dragon. As part of that trade, Drake agrees to letting your Flock go inside. There, all the Gordons who hosted tournaments will be there. You will see that they're all different ducks and not one duck dressing up six times or cloning themself. You will have to race all seven to grant proper access to Drake's Cave and the Arcade in your Flock. Chef Gordon calls you an idiot sandwich, however. That, I think, is the most offensive Gordon of all the Gordons. After that, you end up back in your Flock with the Gordons talking to you just like how Percy The Penguin did at the beginning. When the last boy Gordon calls his brothers to leave, the girl Gordon says "Who you calling 'brother'?"
Arcade[]
In the Arcade, you can play the beginner and pro versions of every game, while earning bronze, silver, golden, and platinum trophies while at it too. The left side is the beginner (blue) games, and the right side contains (orange) pro games. The central arcade machine is supported by some kind of Internet Archive Flash supporter because I saw it when it is right-clicked. Are you wondering why that is so? That's because the central arcade booth is for playing Duck Life 1! Instead of granting levels, the level counter is replaced by gold, silver, bronze, and platinum trophies!

Your duck will make a quack sound to reply other's saying when you are talking with other ducks. The NPC ducks make another sound (Gazingula! / Zhoopydoopy), but if they are recruited and you control them, they will also make the quack sound.
When a duck comes the first place after racing,they will jump and smile.However,when they comes the second, third or fourth places, they are also actually seen smiling.
However,this bug does not appear in the DEMO version. well, it also occurred in it after 7th may .
Male ducks and female ducks makes different timbre of voices.You can use this feature to distinguish a duck's gender.
Only Phyllis and Bryn are recruited to the Flock. . Abby is not. .
